Dispensing Propane Safely & LP Gas Board Competency Exam
Dispensing Propane operators play a critical role in safety and efficiently providing propane to their customers. The course is designed to train employees who may perform any of the following job tasks:
1) operating and inspecting dispensing equipment;
2) inspecting customer cylinders;
3) properly filling cylinders;
4) communicating safety and warning information to the customer;
5) maintaining proper security of the dispensing area;
6) shut-down procedures; and
7) securing the dispenser in case of an emergency.
***Registering for the Dispensing Propane Safely class is a 2-step process. Before you begin, please contact APGA to check the availability of the class date you are requesting. First, complete the registration form with the confirmed available date and then return to APGA or register online. Second, you MUST also complete a Competency Exam Application for each employee that is listed on the registration form. The completed exam applications MUST be returned with the registration forms in order to successfully register for a class. If you registered your employees online, you will complete the Competency Exam Application and email to [email protected]. After receiving the Class Registration and Competency Exam Application, APGA will register each employee for the class and then submit the Exam Application for each employee to the Alabama LP Gas Board on your behalf. Please note: To take the Competency Exam at the end of the Dispensing Propane Safely class, both steps must be completed prior to the class date. If an exam application is not on file for your employee, they will not be allowed to test at the end of the class.
